I was in Denmark over Christmas and New Year, with Anna and her family and friends. Here are some shots of Christmas Eve:

the lady, and the lady with the hat

getting ready to sing around the tree

having a good time

We went for a walk the next day before heading to the next event: the Swedish First Christmas Day in Holte.

Karsten was the game master, testing our knowledge on the American Wild West and World War II villains

the stakes were high in late night pool - 50 Swedish kroner and a bus ticket card

After Second Christmas Day, some exercise and a little rest, it was time for New Year's!

Party preparations

Queen Margrethe was optimistic, despite getting the year wrong once in her speech

Very exotic indeed! We were split up into two teams for a game of skill. Unfortunately, our team lost.

It's midnight: time to go outside for fireworks

safety first

On January 3rd we left on a one week trip to Sweden - first a few days in Gothenburg, and then on to Stockholm. It was fantastic to see so much of my family that I hadn't seen in quite some years. Some photos are below, but first fast forward to a Vietnamese restaurant in Copenhagen just after we got back from Sweden. Pho soup!
