Scenes from Paris:

Good bread and escargots au chocolat at the Fournee d'Augustine
Scenes from Paris:

The Promenade plantee which stretches for a few kilometers on top of an old viaduc in the center, la Maison du Danemark, unlikely neighbours and a traffic cop.
Scenes from Paris:

A party for true believers, and a Flea Market.
Scenes from Paris:

The slightly creepy Montmartre cemetary, the Musee d'Orsay located in a majestic old train station, the National Assembly, a demo for true believers, and the Jardins du Luxembourg.

New Year's Eve: The Queen, a wonderful dinner, singing, dancing, a partly observed 80's theme, and humour.

Shopping for New Year's eve, on New Year's eve. I don't know if I've ever seen lines that big. The almost circled around the entire store. Supermarket employees walked around offering chocolate to people waiting in line.

Copenhagen night - walking off all that food, workers wasting no time in removing Chirstmas decorations.

Christmas in and around Copenhagen. This is with the Swedish family of Anna's uncle. There is a quiz that takes place every year, and this time my team won (though my knowledge of European history and geography was definitely below par). The prize: a burned, excellent John Mayer CD.

My brother Chris was in Amsterdam a few weeks ago. He was passing through to meet up with some of our Swedish family in Gothenbrug and join their caravan down to Italy to do some skiing. Due to a second straight year of KLM air travel foolishness, what was supposed to be a one day stop-over turned out to be only a few hours in the city. It was however enough time to visit the old Heineken Brouwerij, where we took the tour and enjoyed the beer.
